Print Coverage Light, Medium, or Heavy

Print coverage refers to the amount of red, green, blue, and black color within an image. The less colors, the less ink, and usually, the better looking the final printed output will look.

This example is considered light coverage printing.

Light Coverage

Light coverage printing usually means text on a white background or text and a small amount of images on a white background.

This example is considered medium to full coverage printing.

Medium Coverage

Medium coverage is typically artwork that has some white, or mostly lighter color backgrounds. This sample would be considered medium to full coverage.

This example is considered heavy coverage printing.

Heavy Coverage

Heavy coverage discs have darker or black backgrounds.

For best color matching and print results, avoid using heavy coverage artwork when possible.
